A Possible Tornado Was Spotted North Of Montreal

Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm warnings across Quebec.

Photos and videos posted to social media on Monday afternoon appear to show a tornado forming in the Quebec municipality of Mascouche on the North Shore.

An Environment Canada spokesperson told MTL Blog that, indeed, a tornado "most likely" touched down. They said the federal weather agency would be sending analysts to evaluate damage in the area.

Photos captured Monday in Maschouche and shared with Narcity and MTL Blog appear to show a funnel cloud.

The Weather Network has cited one widely-circulated Twitter video as evidence of a possible tornado.
