Two Kinds Of 'Just Pressed' Soups Have Been Recalled In Quebec

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) is warning Quebecers to watch out for a certain batch of Just Pressed soup, sold at several locations across the province.

Just Pressed, a Montreal-based juice bar and health food supplier, has issued a recall of its 500-millilitre bottles of "CARROT AND SWEET POTATO SOUP" and "DILL POTATO SOUP," sold until January 13.

The public [should] not to consume the products indicated... if they have not been kept in the refrigerator at all times since the time of purchase.

You'll recognize these soups from their glass bottles and aluminum caps. The product label includes, in addition to their own name, the words "HOME-MADE".

The problem with the products comes down to a labelling error.

According to a statement from the ministry, the product labels do not include the required "Keep refrigerated" statement.

If you've already purchased Just Pressed's carrot and sweet potato or dill potato soup and you did not keep it in the refrigerator at all times since the time of purchase, you are advised not to consume it.

"They must either return it to the establishment where they bought it or throw it away. Even if the affected products do not show signs of spoilage or a suspicious odour, consuming them may represent a health risk," says the statement.

So far, no cases of illness have been reported to MAPAQ.
