After Quebec Videotron customers began taking to social media to report an outage, a Videotron representative confirmed to MTL Blog that the company is experiencing technical problems.

UPDATE 3:33 p.m.: Videotron says its service is "progressively returning throughout Quebec."

EARLIER: There's no timeline for when the outage will end, but Videotron is on the case.

The apparent outage occurred at around 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

While there's no timeline for when the outage will be fixed, a representative says Videotron will post updates on social media.

"We're actively working on it right now," said a spokesperson.

The online site Downdetector recorded over 15,000 reports of problems as of 1:50 p.m. 

Countless Videotron customers have taken to social media to commiserate while they await the restoration of service, including Sugar Sammy, who poked fun at the company using a catchphrase from a Bell commercial.
