There’s a new Montreal music festival joining the summer circuit. Palomosa is the latest creation from the minds behind Piknic Électronik and Igloofest. Making its debut this September, the two-day bash will span pop, rock, R&B, Latin, and EDM, featuring headliners who wowed crowds at Coachella this year.

On September 6 and 7, Parc Jean-Drapeau becomes the centre of the action. Festival-goers can look forward to interactive art installations, various food trucks and bars, and multiple stages that ensure the music never stops.

A main stage will captivate audiences at Espace 67, while the second stage at Jardin Le Petit Prince promises a more intimate setting. VIP attendees can enjoy the perks of the exclusive GURU Terrasse.

The festival lineup will include nearly two dozen artists, to be fully announced later this summer. But leading the charge are Kali Uchis and Gesaffelstein, whose recent Coachella performances cemented their status as must-see acts of the year.

Kali Uchis is a Colombian-American singer known for her sultry voice and unique mix of reggaeton, soul, and pop. Her distinctive style have earned her critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base. Uchis' performances are known for emotive depth and her stage presence. She has recently toured arenas across North America with Tyler, The Creator.

Gesaffelstein, the French record producer and DJ known for his dark, minimalist electronic music, brings a touch of European techno to the festival. His sets are renowned for their precision and intensity, creating a mesmerizing experience for the audience. He collaborated with Kanye West on 'Yeezus' and 'Donda,' The Weeknd on 'My Dear Melancholy,' ASAP Rocky on the Divergent soundtrack, and recently, Grammy-winner KayCyy on his debut EP.

As the spiritual successor to MEG (Montréal Électronique Groove) festival, Palomosa not only promises to match the electric atmosphere of its predecessors but also aims to carve out its own niche. The festival’s roots in MEG’s tradition are evident in the eclectic artist lineup and a keen emphasis on showcasing emerging talents alongside established acts.

"With a wealth of local and international musical talent, the stage is set to bid summer farewell in style! MEG is not merely a memory — it's back, rejuvenated, and rebranded, ready to embrace new horizons," said Pascal Lefebvre, CEO of Multicolore, a driving force behind the fresh festival.

Tickets for Palomosa are already available online. General admission for the two-day event starts at $179, while VIP passes begin at $289. The premium option includes express entry, access to the Guru Terrasse, a prime view of the Videotron stage, private bathrooms, an exclusive bar, and bottle service options.

Forget a quiet end to summer; at Palomosa, the season goes out with a bang.
