Here's Montreal's COVID-19 Case Count Per Borough As Of August 20

As we navigate life amidst a pandemic, we continue to adapt to the new ways of life. While Montreal's COVID-19 case count continues to rise, the city and the population have been doing their part to combat the pandemic on the island. But, the virus remains present and has not yet been eradicated.

As of Thursday, August 20, at noon, Santé Montréal has reported 29,515 confirmed cases and 3,464 COVID-related deaths since March.

People aged 80 and more continue to be the demographic with the highest number of cases at 6,887 cases and 23% of the total count. However, the same group has 2,559 deaths, making up almost 74% of the total deaths so far.

The 20-29 age demographic makes up the next highest case count at 4,090 total cases and 13.9%. This group has had less than five COVID-related deaths.

The 30-39 and 40-49 age demographics aren't far behind at 13.2% and 13.7%, respectively. 

Like in previous weeks, the data shows that women have had more confirmed cases than men at a rate of 57.3% versus 42.7%.

Quebec remains the province with the highest number of cases at 61,402. Montreal makes up 48% of cases in the province.

At roughly 23 weeks since the start of the pandemic, the methods to combat not only the pandemic but its economic effects and to support people's well-being continue to be the governments' top priorities.
