Here's Your Risk Level For Catching COVID-19 Based On The Types Of Contacts You've Had

There are three levels of risk.

If you go see a friend, what are the chances of catching COVID-19? Good question. On Friday, Health Minister Christian Dubé explained the levels of risk of contracting COVID-19 for Quebecers depending on the forms of contact they've had.

Dubé broke it down for us on his Twitter account.

In total, there are three levels of risk that are used by public health to conduct epidemiological investigations and the tracing of infected or possibly infected people.

What represents a high risk, according to the government, is any direct contact with a person infected with COVID-19.

This includes people living in the same household as a coronavirus-positive person, a person providing physical care, and close contact without a mask.

The moderate level includes contact within two metres and prolonged contact, such as on public transportation, with someone who has not followed the health measures in place.

Prolonged contact lasts 15 minutes consecutively or cumulatively.

As for the low level, it is quite simple: the person has had no contact with a "covidian."

If in doubt, the federal COVID Alert application will tell you if you've been within two metres of an infected person.
