Quebec's September weather forecast has dropped and it's going to be a wet mess

Umbrellas at the ready, folks! ☔️

September is just around the corner, and that means it's time to start thinking about Montreal's fall forecast and what the city can expect as we head into the colder seasons.

And, while September brings the promise of pumpkin-spiced lattes and cozy evenings, Quebec's long-range forecast shows the region is in store for some pretty unpleasant weather, from rainy days to wintry chills.

Still, at least we can get prepared, and thankfully, the Farmers' Almanac has us covered. Their recent September forecast for Quebec shows that fall is ready to make a sudden entrance, with the potential for snow earlier than usual. If that didn't make you shiver, you can also expect plenty of rain, alongside chilly temperatures. Lovely.

If you're already making plans for pumpkin patches or chasing the fall foliage, check out the Farmers' Almanac's September forecast for a better idea of when to do what — so you can avoid soggy pumpkins or even snow-covered foliage!

Broken into three and four-day intervals, here's what's in store for Quebec for the month ahead:

September

  • 1-3: An unseasonable chill accompanies fair skies for Labour Day.
  • 4-7: Unseasonably chilly air moves into the region after rain and showers.
  • 8-11: Continued unseasonably chilly temperatures.
  • 12-15: Lots of cloudiness.
  • 16-19: Even more rain.
  • 20-23: More scattered showers.
  • 24-27: Variably cloudy skies and, yes, you guessed it, more widely scattered showers.
  • 28-30: Increasingly cloudy skies.

So, as you plan your fall activities in Montreal, keep this forecast in mind. Whether you're dodging raindrops or catching the first glimpses of snow, it's shaping up to be a September to remember!

If you were hoping things might look up during winter 2024-2025, there's more bad news. Long-range forecasts predict a pretty big storm in February, although there will be "more white than wet" this year--a positive for anyone hoping for a white Christmas.

All of this to say, make the most of any remaining warm and sunny days, folks! They may be the last we see for a while.
