Enjoy the rest of summer while you can! 😬

August is around the corner, which means two things depending on whether you're a glass half full or glass half empty kind of person: (1) We have more than a month left to enjoy what's left of summer. (2) Autumn will be here before we know it.
While we still have plenty of time before we trade our iced coffees for pumpkin spice lattes, we can already get a sense of what Quebec's fall weather forecast is going to look like.
Farmers' Almanac has released its Canadian Fall Extended Forecast for 2024, including some detailed predictions about the weather that's on its way to Montreal and Quebec, along with the rest of the provinces.
According to Farmers' Almanac, there's a "frosty fall on tap" across the country.
Autumn weather is expected to quite literally "blow in" on September 22, the date of the 2024 fall equinox, with "chillier temperatures and unsettled weather from coast to coast," as Newfoundland and Labrador face a hurricane threat.
In Quebec specifically, November is looking chilly and "unsettled" with the forecast predicting a "stormy" month for la belle province, much like in the Maritimes.
Watch out and bundle up on the weekend of November 8. It should be particularly frigid and snowy in Quebec up until November 11 with "potential for an early-season, heavy snowfall" followed by "very cold" conditions.
So, what does the forecast have to say about pivotal autumn dates, like the Thanksgiving and Halloween holidays?
Canadian Thanksgiving appears to be a nice reprieve with the weather looking "fair and dry" in the province on October 14.
Meanwhile, Farmers' Almanac is pointing to some potentially "spooky, soggy weather" in most parts of Canada this Halloween.
Although there's no mention of what to expect in Quebec in particular, it seems "the best chances for fair weather" on October 31 are in Ontario. With Montreal close by, here's hoping we'll be spared, too.
Keep an eye on the Farmers' Almanac long-range forecast for more detailed weather predictions in the Quebec region, as they become available.
