Melanie Ann Layer is a 33-year-old entrepreneur, founder and head of Alpha Femme, a luxury boutique coaching firm. Narcity Québec reports that in August, she made history in the Lower Laurentides with the purchase of a nearly $5 million mansion — a record sale for the Quebec subregion.

Layer spoke to Narcity Québec about her career journey, including a low point in which she had to sleep in her car.

Narcity Québec reports that a woman in her 20s has died after getting hit by a plane as it landed on the grounds of the Parachute Montréal skydiving school in the Lanaudière town of Saint-Esprit.

The woman, who worked at Parachute Montréal, was mowing the lawn at the time of the collision, which the Sûreté du Québec (SQ) said was an accident.

Montrealers certainly weren't shy about snitching on neighbours who were having gatherings this year. According to data shared with Narcity Québec, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) received over 14,000 complaints in seven months. 

The data was collected between April 1 and November 1. It includes 911 calls as well as online complaints about indoor and outdoor gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic.
