Several Montreal restaurants, bars and cafés across the city have been hit with inspection fines by the Ministère de l'Agriculture, des Pêcheries et de l'Alimentation Quebec (MAPAQ) for health and safety risks to consumers including issues with sanitation, hygiene, food quality and preparation.

Following an inspection at a popular Tim Hortons location in Montreal, the MAPAQ has fined the Montreal establishment $4,500 for failing to meet the MAPAQ inspection team's quality control.
