I tried Tim Hortons' new savoury pinwheel pastries and this one was better than sex
You have to try it for yourself. 😍

A person holding up a Tim Hortons takeout bag. Right: The new Tim Hortons savoury pinwheel pastries.
Tim Hortons just dropped two new savoury menu items and when I tell you to run to get your hands on one of 'em, believe me.
Joining the roster of decadent Tim Hortons offerings are two new pinwheel pastries — a roasted red pepper and Swiss flavour and the caramelized onion and parmesan option. Described as the "perfect snack to satisfy your savoury cravings," the new Timmies pinwheel pastries are buttery, flaky and served warm. And with a description as appetizing as that, I obviously needed to taste test both of them.
While I am not one to normally jump at trying a new Tim Hortons pastry, these pinwheels sounded too good to pass up, especially the roasted red pepper choice.
Shockingly enough, that one left me unsatisfied and disappointed, whereas the caramelized onion and parmesan pastry tantalized my taste buds in ways that Tim Horton himself likely couldn't do.

Despite having high hopes for the roasted red pepper pastry, there was a bit too much filling inside the dough, which left things feeling a bit soggy for my liking. However, the flavour was pretty decent.
With strong notes of roasted red pepper, you get a subtle hint of Swiss cheese that complements the pepper quite well, but the overall texture definitely lacked that promised flakiness.
As for the caramelized onion and parmesan? Life changing.

This bad boy took me by surprise. While I was worried it would have an overwhelming onion flavour, this pastry offered nothing short of pure buttery bliss.
The creamy filling matched with the crispy exterior left me with no choice but to go for a second bite before I had even swallowed the first. That's an effect very few baked goods (and beyond) have had on me.
I don't know what Tim put into these, but if I had to choose between the caramelized onion and parmesan pinwheels or the love of my life, then hand me the damn pastry because it isn't getting any better than this.
Now, if you'll excuse me I need to run to Timmies again real quick.
