After a service outage disrupted their customers' day on April 19, Rogers and Fido, its subsidiary, are offering a credit to those affected.

The company first indicated a deduction "[equivalent] to the wireless service charges" for the day would be applied to the next bill and then clarified how the credit would be calculated.

Following the major Rogers outage on April 19, the company and Fido, another subsidiary, say they will automatically apply a credit to affected customers' bills for May.

The credit will be "equivalent to yesterday's [April 19] wireless service fee," according to a statement.

The people behind a $26-million class-action lawsuit against Rogers Wireless Communications are looking for "some 80,000 people" who haven't claimed their reimbursement from the company.

The lawsuit concerned the "Early Termination Fee (ETF) of contracts paid between February 2008 and June 2013, which were found to be abusive," according to a February 1 press release.
