A Quebec Teen Has Died Due To COVID-19 & They're The Youngest Death So Far In The Province

Quebec public health officials have confirmed to MTL Blog that a 19-year-old has passed away due to complications resulting from COVID-19. The individual represents the youngest death from COVID-19 in Quebec.
Officials were unable to offer any more details that could further identify them due to laws protecting personal medical records.

According to authorities, 3,279 people between the ages of 10 and 19 have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in Quebec, 31 of them have been hospitalized, including six that were placed in intensive care.
The 80-89 age group represents over 40% of COVID-19 deaths in the province.
As of August 20, a total of 5,730 people have died in Quebec as a result of novel coronavirus infections.
