This Viral Post Has People Sharing The Most Random Places They've Heard Quebec French

We all know this delightful experience. We jet off to some far-flung corner of the world and at just the moment when it seems we couldn't be farther from home, we hear the familiar sound of Quebec French behind us. We turn around and greet our compatriots with a friendly "bonjour!" and watch the surprise on their faces.
It's an experience that, it turns out, thousands of Quebecers have shared.
A now-viral tweet by Twitter user @soobiedoo perfectly captured just what these moments feel like.

"Quebecers rly b everywhere," she wrote on July 28. "Bro like u can be on mount everest and u’ll hear someone b like 'bin oui ginette on descend bientôt.'"
The tweet has earned almost 10,000 likes and over 2,000 shares and comments.
Many of the commenters are sharing their own bizarre stories of encounters with fellow Quebecers in the most random places.
The whole thread is super touching and a testament to Quebec's international presence.
@soobiedoo, real name Fran, told MTL Blog that the inspiration for the tweet was a memory from her own trip to Europe.
"I was at the very peak of a mountain in Italy and we were literally the only ones at the top besides another couple who was walking around."
Then, "as they stared at the view besides us one of them went. 'esti que c'est beau icitte.'"
Some of the stories in the comments are just as delightfully random.
"true, met 2 quebec girls in a tiny village in a random hostel in south korea... I am a french speaking Ontarian though so maybe for others I count as one of them," wrote one Twitter user.

With pandemic restrictions, Quebecers now seem to be travelling extensively within Canada — to the surprise of some other Canadians.
