Canadians are not happy right now.

Canadians are often considered among the politest people in the world, and while that may be true for some, it seems a lot of our compatriots are keeping their dissatisfaction behind a veneer of forced cheer.
A recent poll ranking the angriest Canadian provinces found one, in particular, is raging a lot more than the others.
Pollara, a full-service research firm in Canada, ranked the angriest provinces in Canada based on their feelings about six topics including the federal government, provincial government, the Canadian economy, personal financial situation, changes happening in Canada and the latest stories appearing in the news.
To compile the data, which Pollara refers to as the "Rage Index", the Canadian company surveyed a randomly selected sample of 1,507 Canadian adults aged 18 years and over.
According to Pollara, the Rage index hit a new high in April 2024, with record levels of anger about the Canadian economy, and both federal and provincial governments.
So, which Canadian province is among the angriest? Pollara determined that Ontario is the angriest Canadian province with an average Rage Index of 62%.
The Atlantic provinces came in second, with 59% of people angry or annoyed with the above six topics. Surely Quebec followed shortly after right? Wrong.
Despite ongoing issues within Quebec pertaining to areas such as healthcare, housing, education and government policy, La Belle Province actually landed last on the list, with a Rage Index of 50%.
British Columbia and Alberta tied with a Rage Index of 58%, while Manitoba and Saskatchewan came in with an average of 54% of people angry or annoyed with Canadian politics, economics and continuing changes. You can see the full breakdown of the poll results here.
