Planning a little getaway? This fall destination — just a short road trip away from Montreal — was recently named one of the best spots to see fall colours in Canada and it's brimming with autumn beauty.

Search aggregator and travel agency Skyscanner recently revealed the top five fall foliage destinations in the country and this charming Ontario spot came in at number four on the list.

Prince Edward County, located on the shores of Lake Ontario, is a picturesque area with rolling vineyards, cute towns and sandy beaches.

Every fall season, the region bursts into a patchwork of reds, oranges and yellows, making it a stunning spot for an autumn escape.

You can spend your crisp fall days wandering through small towns like Picton and Wellington, visiting farmers' markets and exploring the many vineyards and wineries.

According to Skyscanner, the best spots to go leaf-peeping in Prince Edward County are the Millennium Trail and Sandbanks Provincial Park.

The Millennium Trail stretches 46 kilometres and links quaint communities throughout The County including Picton, Wellington, Bloomfield and Consecon. You can soak up the gorgeous fall scenery and breathe in the fresh autumn air.

Sandbanks Provincial Park is known for its beautiful summer beaches, but fall is also a gorgeous time to explore this dune-filled area.

The Lakeview Trail and Woodlands Trail are the best areas to enjoy the fall colours at the park, according to Ontario Parks.

While Prince Edward County is less than four hours away from Montreal by car, you can also enjoy gorgeous fall colours closer to home. Quebec's Laurentian Mountains were named as the second-best destination in Canada when it comes to gorgeous foliage.

Enjoy some leaf-peeping adventures at these spots!
