SPVM spokesperson Julien Lévesque confirmed to MTL Blog that Montreal police officers intervened to break up a party in the borough of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Sunday night.

He said hundreds of people were in attendance.

We were asked by the owner to cancel this party because there were too many people.

The property owner first asked police to break up the crowd, which Lévesque said dispersed without incident within 45 minutes of the officers' arrival.

No arrests were made.

In Quebec, private gatherings are still limited to a maximum of 10 people. Attendees are also required to maintain two metres of distance from each other.
