Some Montrealers Will Soon Be Getting COVID-19 Vaccines At Banks, Deps & SAQ

Certain businesses will be responsible for vaccinating employees and their families.
Reporter

Certain Montrealers will soon be able to receive doses of COVID-19 vaccines in Quebec depanneurs, Société des alcools du Québec (SAQ) locations and banks across the city, according to a provincial press release from April 8.

The move, by Health Minister Christian Dubé, was made in an effort to strengthen the province's immunization capacity and accelerate COVID-19 vaccination in Quebec.

Through the contribution of over 450 Quebec companies, the government is aiming to vaccinate 500,000 Quebecers at these corporate vaccination centres.

Each centre will be responsible for vaccinating its employees and partners, as well as the employees of nearby companies and their respective families — but they are required to commit to "respecting the order of priority for the vaccination campaign."

Among other companies across the province, the businesses cleared for vaccinating in Montreal so far are:

  • Banque Nationale, Bell, Couche-Tard, le Groupe CH and METRO (Montreal and Brossard
  • CAE
  • Merck Canada - Novartis Canada and other pharmaceutical industry partners
  • Pratt & Whitney Canada (Longueuil)
  • Société des alcools du Québec aka SAQ
  • YUL (Aéroports de Montréal - Bombardier - Air Canada)

Each corporate vaccination hub in Quebec is committed to vaccinating 15,000 to 25,000 people from May to August.
