Environment Canada dropped a series of special weather statements ahead of a system that could bring snow to Quebec between Wednesday and Thursday — just when you thought it was all behind us.

"Snow associated with this system has the potential to bring significant amounts to parts of Central and Eastern Quebec," particularly the Beauce, Eastern Townships and Bas-Saint-Laurent, the weather agency says.

"Snowfall amounts over these areas may reach or even exceed 15 centimetres."

Quebec City is also one of the regions under threat.

"This late season snowfall could result in a very dangerous road network and cause major slowdowns," Environment Canada continues.

"In addition, roads could be even more slippery for motorists who have already switched from winter to summer tires."
