On July 9, an Amber Alert was put into effect in Quebec when two young girls, Norah, 11, and Romy Carpentier, 6, were declared missing. The alert was lifted two days later when both children's bodies were recovered and declared dead.

The suspect, Martin Carpentier, who is the girls' father, has yet to be found.

The Sûreté du Québec's tweet from July 12 at 10:16 a.m. informed the public that "Martin Carpentier has not yet been intercepted. The search continues this morning."

The police continue to remind anyone who thinks they have a lead on Martin Carpentier's whereabouts to call 9-1-1 and "not to attempt to intercept him if they see him."

Carpentier is expected to be around the Saint-Apollinaire area.
