On Tuesday, the New Era hat company released a series of baseball hats that aimed to honour the iconic symbols of the cities they represent. The Toronto Blue Jays hat featured a poutine and many questions were raised.Β 

Multiple cities' hats were intensely mocked on social media by fanbases, prompting New Era to reportedly remove them from its website.

The Blue Jays hat featured one of Toronto's several area codes, an outline of Toronto's land mass, and a poutine.

In a statement shared with MTL Blog, New Era said that it removed the line of hats because a "few caps omitted a relevant area code" for their cities.Β 

"We apologize for any unintentional design mistake with regard to this collection."
