And frolic through the fields!
Senior Editor

Journey an hour outside Montreal to Saint-Anicet, Quebec to frolic through the fields of Au Beau Pré this summer.

The farm — which, according to its website, counts 300 varieties of dahlias plus 50 flower types designated for cutting — lets visitors pick their own flowers to build their own bouquets.

An Au Beau Pré spokesperson told MTL Blog that the farm plans to allow self-picking only during specific dates in the summer and early fall of 2021:

  • July 30 – 31 and August 1

  • August 13 – 15

  • August 27 – 29

  • September 3 – 5

  • September 10 – 12

  • September 17 – 19

  • September 24 – 26

Weather-permitting, there could be additional dates in October.

What's new at Au Beau Pré this year?

The team behind Au Beau Pré is "completely changing the configuration of the site this year to improve the experience of our pickers," the spokesperson said.

Between two fields, there will be a new rest area with picnic tables.

Visitors can also expect food trucks and kiosks during flower-picking weekends.

The spokesperson suggested there may even be some special events this year, like yoga or live performances.

They encouraged prospective visitors to stay tuned to the farm's Facebook and Instagram pages.
