Skytrax evaluated more than 550 airports worldwide. Of all the airports it surveyed, Montréal-Trudeau ranked 63rd, meaning it made the top 100 world's best airports.

YUL also ranked highly for staff service and cleanliness. It was awarded third place for best airport staff service in North America and placed fifth in the cleanest airport in North America category.

Montréal-Trudeau airport has remained in the top 10 best airports in North America category for many years. In 2019, Skytrax ranked it 62nd best airport in the world and in 2020 it ranked 57th.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are globally recognized, and Montreal's airport authority called them a "benchmark of quality" within the airport industry. This survey was conducted from August 2020 until July 2021, and Skytrax pays for all operating costs.
