Early Thursday morning, on August 12, around 2:15 a.m., the SPVM received a 911 call about gunshots in downtown Montreal.

The incident took place on rue Beaudry, near rue Ontario, at an apartment building.

"When officers arrived, they located many shells on the floor outside the apartment building. After information was gathered, according to witnesses, many people went to an outside door at an apartment building on Beaudry. Someone knocked at the door and when the door opened, there were some gunshots that were fired towards the inside," SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant told MTL Blog.

"Luckily, no one was hurt, no one was injured."

The amount of suspects remains uncertain to Montreal police at the moment, "but I know there were a couple of them led by foot," Brabant said.

After firing the gunshots, the suspects got into a car and "left in an unknown direction."

No arrests have been made yet.
