Your Favourite Old Montreal Spots Have Amazing Deals Right Now For Happening Gourmand

Brunch for just $17.
Contributing Writer

When it comes to food, Montrealers know what's up. And when it comes to events, we've been around the block a couple of times, too. So when the two come together, you know it's gonna be good. Happening Gourmand is one of the city's most anticipated culinary events of the year.

Typically in January, the festival includes some of Montreal's best culinary experiences for reduced prices and special menus, including some new places to the scene.

After the success of its 13th edition this winter, the festival is back this month for the first-ever Happening Gourmand: Summer Edition.

From August 3 to August 30, ten of Old Montreal's most popular restaurants will be offering mouth-watering brunch and dinner menus (until 7:30 p.m.) to try at a reduced price.

The restaurants participating are:

  • Vieux-Port Steakhouse

  • Taverne Gaspar

  • BEVO Bar + Pizzeria

  • JACOPO

  • Modavie

  • Brasserie 701

  • NELLi Café + Vin Nature

  • Méchant Boeuf

  • Maggie Oakes

  • KYO Bar Japonais

Table d'hôte menus start at at $25, and seven of the locations (Maggie Oakes, Brasserie 701, JACOPO, Taverne Gaspar, Modavie, Vieux-Port Steakhouse, and NELLi) are offering brunch menus for $17.

And these aren't just your typical eggs benny — the teams are serving up their own takes on brunch classics, as well as offering some of the staples that make brunch everyone's favourite meal of the day.

Happening Gourmand has also partnered with Doordash so that you don't have to go to Old Montreal to be able to enjoy the menus.

But if you are planning to head to the restaurants, you can make a reservation on the event's website or with the individual participants.

And since these are some of Montreal's favourite restaurants year-round, you can imagine they'll be even more popular during Happening Gourmand.

You can also find all of the menus and offerings from each of the restaurants online.

So be sure to come hungry and get ready to see and taste Montreal in a whole new way.
