I Tried Montreal's New "Adult Playground" & This Is My Honest Opinion (Video)

A little recess from real life 🤸‍♀️
HideSeek Montreal's Adult Playground Open October 12th
  • The new "playground for adults," HideSeek Montreal, has officially arrived and will soon be opening its doors to the public.
  • I went to give it a try so I could give you my honest opinion — so here it is.
  • Check out the photos and videos below!

Last night, I had the pleasure of returning to the daydreams of my childhood at HideSeek Montreal, the new "adult playground" on rue Saint-Denis.

You may remember the space as the old Urban Outfitters, or the temporary FlohMarkt (before it moved next door). The massive three-storey storefront has now been masterfully transformed into an impressive maze of childhood delight by the creators of HideSeek.

The first run of this "recess for adults" took place in Toronto where they sold over 18,000 tickets during the span of the pop-up.

Tickets are $25 for adults and the experience lasts about an hour... so sure, it's more expensive than going to see a movie - but it's also a lot more fun.

They've got over 12 decorated spaces* that each speak to their own parts and aspects of childhood, whether you were an 80s, 90s or 2000s baby.

The immersive pop-up experience opens to the public on October 12th, but you can buy tickets right now.

I had the chance to go get a sneak-peak at the space yesterday and it was so much fun exploring all the rooms and letting my inner child out, even just for a little while.

Check out some of the pics and videos below!

The whole HideSeek experience is meant to bring nostalgia to life through an immersive adventure that takes you inside a maze of uniquely designed rooms.

One of the best features of the experience is the awesome throwback soundtrack.

Part of me is tempted to share every little detail, but at the same time, I want to leave some surprises and allow for the experience to be fresh for anyone that is going to go.

That being said, there will be endless photos available on Instagram as soon as the first round of visitors makes their way through on October 12th.

Because that is definitely part of this whole experience - snapping pics and attempting to capture the essence of each of the rooms while trying to do each element justice.

But HideSeek is more than just a selfie tour. It's clear the artists and organizers involved were thinking about details right down to the nitty-gritty.

My friend and I had a great time interacting with the space and agreed it would be a super fun way to spend a date.

The room below was designed by Montreal artist Nikki Küntzle and it is one of the elements that I feel will totally divide the crowd.

While some visitors will 100% be there for the selfies in front of neon signs, the ones who are really ready to revisit childhood are going to be right in the bubble pool ball pit.

So, like anything, HideSeek will be what you make of it... and it won't be here for long. So, if you're feeling like you could use a little recess in your life, you'll want to check it out.
