Quebec Is Re-Closing Montreal Gyms

Well that didn't last long.

Montreal gym owners' fear has come to pass. On Tuesday, Premier François Legault announced that gyms in Quebec's red zones will close as of Thursday, April 8, in an effort to limit the spread of COVID-19. 

Montreal gyms had reopened on March 26.

Legault called new measures coming to Montreal "preventative."

"When we look at Montreal [...] we are not currently seeing a significant increase in the number of cases," said the premier.

"Yes, for now, we resisted a little bit longer than elsewhere, but there is a risk according to experts that's more significant this week than it was last week [of] a strong increase in cases."
