There are some restrictions, though.

Premier François Legault has made the announcement that so many of you have been waiting for: Halloween is officially allowed in Quebec — but only really for children.

There will, of course, be a few rules to keep in mind for all you would-be trick-or-treaters.

"Unfortunately, we won't be able to spend Halloween with our friends," he said.

"We have to celebrate it with the other people who live in the same household as us."

We are going to be able to allow our children [...] to celebrate Halloween.

The second rule, he said, is that "people who give out candy should do so by trying to respect the two-metre [distance]."

Legault explained that one way to do that would be to set up a candy station and sit two-metres away from it to greet trick-or-treaters.

"It's not ideal, but the kids will be able to dress up" and go trick-or-treating," said Legault.

"But let me be clear," he continued, "for the adults, there will be no Halloween parties."

"This is only for the kids who are going door-to-door."

With Halloween just two weeks away, it's time to plan your socially-distant trick-or-treating route.
