Health Minister Christian Dubé hit the Quebec bar scene with a big update during the provincial government's press conference on Tuesday, September 15.

Dubé announced that all bars in the province must now stop all food sales at midnight.

We are now banning the sale of food past midnight in bars.

The reason behind this decision, as the Health Minister put it, is because "people think they're smarter than the rules" and will just keep adding food to their bill just so that they can continue drinking alcohol.

"But it doesn't work like that. It's done — no more food after midnight in bars," Dubé said firmly.

Quebec bars are also now required to log all customers who enter their establishments.
