This Quebec Campground Has Flying Bikes & You Can Soar Through The Treetops This Fall

Even more beautiful when the leaves change colour! 🍁

Senior Writer

Sure, riding a bike is great. But have you ever tried soaring through treetops on a floating bicycle, as the fall leaves change colour? At Au Diable Vert, a Quebec campground, farm and nature park in the Eastern Townships, you can do just that.

Au Diable Vert's 'VéloVolant' experience is a unique one. While you can do this ecological activity in the summer, some would argue that it's even more beautiful in the fall.

So how does it work? The website explains that recumbent bikes (like stationary bikes or spin bikes) are attached to cables supported by tall maple and pine trees.

The 1,000-metre circuit "meanders along a mountainside passing through ravines and over waterfalls, allowing you to peer through the canopy at the Green Mountains of Vermont," the website says.

The bike only travels as quickly as you pedal, which means you can stop to check out a particularly gorgeous vantage point or pick up the pace to get your adrenaline pumping.

The ride, which lasts 45 minutes, costs $50 per adult and you can book your spot online. There are age and weight restrictions so you'll want to check the website before you reserve.

While you're at Au Diable Vert, there are also tons of other activities you can do, including hiking and stargazing. And, if you want, you can camp overnight.
