Would you quit your job if you won the lottery? For Mohamed Karim Mamlouk, a Revenu Québec employee who just won Lotto 6/49's $50 million jackpot, the answer is a resounding "no."

"The day he found out he’d become a multimillionaire, Mamlouk was entrusted with new responsibilities at work and had an excellent day. So, he’s not planning on saying 'bye-bye, boss!' just yet and hopes to keep a similar lifestyle," says a Loto-Québec press release.

According to Loto-Québec, Mamlouk was on his way to work when he checked the Lotteries app on his phone — a simple act that left him "stunned" as "$50 million" appeared on the screen.

The first thing he did was call his spouse, who, at first, ignored the call because she was at work. He had to call her several times before he finally reached her to let her know they had won the Gold Ball Jackpot.

Mamlouk and his wife, Insaf Bach Werdiane, regularly buy lottery tickets together. Mamlouk is in charge of the Lotto 6/49 tickets while Werdiane takes care of the Grande Vie tickets.

Their winning ticket was purchased at Dépanneur Sprint / Station Petro-Canada on boulevard de la Chaudière in Quebec City. The dep has earned a $500,000 commission from the sale.

According to Loto-Québec, the province's Capitale-Nationale region is currently on a lucky streak with players in the area winning six $1 million prizes this year — four in August alone.

Mamlouk may work for Quebec's tax collection agency, but Loto-Québec confirmed that his lottery win is not taxable.
