Love warm sand, turquoise water, and jaw-dropping views, but think you need to hop on a plane to find them? Think again.

We'll admit it — Quebec probably isn't the first place you think of when planning a beach vacation. But the province is home to some seriously stunning stretches of shoreline. From hidden freshwater gems to salty seaside stunners, these beaches might just rival the Caribbean (okay, maybe not the palm trees or year-round heat, but you get the idea).

Plopped between the great green ridges of Canada's Forillon National Park and the wide-open waters of the Gulf of Saint Lawrence, this Quebec home for sale is an unassuming dot on the wildflower-covered shore. But it presents a potentially life-changing opportunity: an escape to seaside seclusion in one of the most beautiful corners of the province at the tip of the Gaspé peninsula.

The four-bedroom, one-bathroom house is on the market for $359,000.

The provincial government has announced a plan to make flights within Quebec cheaper and promote air service to more remote destinations. The plan includes a $500 limit on the price of round-trip intra-Quebec flights to select destinations in outlying regions. That price cap will take effect in the summer of 2022 once government subsidies kick in.

Following the announcement, the government released a map of the eligible air routes. They include direct flights from Montreal or Saint-Hubert to Mont-Joli in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region, Saguenay, Baie-Comeau, Sept-Îles, Chibougamau in the Nord-du-Québec region, Val-d'Or, Rouyn-Noranda, and, perhaps most excitingly, the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

The [ÈST] Éco-cabines glamping site in Quebec's Gaspésie region is a destination for those seeking some luxurious solitude this summer. On offer are cozy modern cabins for two tucked away in the woods and a new spa that's only available to guests in private three-hour windows.

The concept eliminates the worst part of the spa experience: crossing paths with loud dripping wet strangers. The private reservation means you can carelessly wander between the baths before retreating to your isolated accommodation.

The emerald river and waterfall hidden in the woods of Percé's eponymous Parc de la Rivière Émeraude is an easy hike for anyone travelling through eastern Quebec. The shallow stream at the tip of Quebec's Gaspésie region gets its enchanting deep green hue from the rocks at its bottom, according to the regional tourism website.

The spot where the river trickles over a low outcrop into a wide natural pool is a popular summer destination for photo-seekers.

Sépaq has enhanced the experience at several of its parks and reserves ahead of summer 2022. In addition to a new cliffside lookout in the Parc national des Monts-Valin, the society has also installed new rest areas with stunning views in the Gaspésie region's Réserve faunique de Matane.

The two new platforms are near the Auberge de montage des Chic‑Chocs, an isolated four-star mountain lodge that sits atop a mountain crest in what Sépaq calls the heart of the reserve.

Perched above the Baie-des-Chaleurs near the village of Escuminac, among the rolling hills of Quebec’s Gaspésie region, this sprawling 300-acre estate comes with a 16-bedroom wooden castle, two libraries, a grand banquet hall, and watchtowers.

And at an asking price of just $650,000, it's a castle that even a paper bag princess can afford.
