Legendary rapper Busta Rhymes showed up at a Montreal nightclub unexpectedly over the weekend, surprising local party-goers with a live freestyle and showering the city with major love.

Rhymes was in town for a Missy Elliott concert at Montreal's Centre Bell on August 17, which featured himself as well as Ciara and Timbaland. But a member of the JEGantic marketing team told MTL Blog that he arrived in la belle province a day early, opting to spend part of his night at the hospitality group's downtown supper club Yoko Luna.

Nicki Minaj performed at Montreal's Centre Bell on Wednesday, April 17. However, the rapper didn't appear on stage until well past 11 p.m. — nearly three hours after the show was expected to begin.

Minaj, who is currently on her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, had Montreal fans worried following an hour of no news from the rapper. When the two-hour mark arrived and Minaj was still a no-show, ticketholders began posting news of the performer's tardiness on TikTok and Twitter.

Some attendees will also have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet the maestros behind the original scores.

Three of Japan's most revered anime composers will be in attendance: Yasuharu Takanashi, known for his work on Naruto and Fairy Tail; Yuki Hayashi, the musical genius behind My Hero Academia; and Makoto Miyazaki, famed for his compositions in SPY x FAMILY and One Punch Man. VIP ticket holders will have the chance to meet and greet the creators whose work has defined a generation of anime. VIP tickets are priced at $161.35, while regular tickets start at $46.

50 Cent brought his Final Lap Tour to Montreal's Centre Bell on August 1 and 2, 2023, for an absolutely unforgettable show — not just for the audience. At one point the sheer volume and passion of the crowd's cheering left the rapper stunned.

Now, it's no secret that Montreal concert crowds are notorious for being among the loudest, and last night's 50 Cent show is proof of just that. The "Candy Shop" artist was joined by rap icon Busta Rhymes, who also got some rather deafening cheers from the crowd. However, the audience upped the ante during 50 Cent's set, making it clear that he's got fans in the 514.

Your favourite artist is on tour and announces they're stopping in Montreal. You excitedly open Ticketmaster… but any seat you'd actually want costs an arm and a leg. You can either sell a body part for quick cash, or take to social media to complain.

Many Montrealers opt for the latter, and they're not alone. A lot of Canadian show-goers are openly upset that concerts by the biggest stars seem to cost way more now than in years past. That's all thanks to dynamic pricing.
