A Montreal hotel was just ranked among the 50 best in the world
Exciting news for the city's luxury hospitality scene! A Montreal hotel has been recognized as one of the 'Best Hotels in the World in 2024' by the U.S. edition of Condé Nast Traveler's Readers' Choice Awards.
This annual survey, which garnered an impressive 575,048 votes, reflects travellers’ opinions on the top 50 accommodations worldwide, and the Four Seasons Hotel Montreal has made its mark for the second year in a row.
"Unforgettable food," "cutting-edge design" and "immersive experiences" were some of the main criteria voters used to judge what makes a quality hotel, according to the Condé Nast Traveler website.
Montreal's Four Seasons Hotel landed in 46th place among the world's elite hotels, wedged between The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach Florida (#47) and The Belmond's Splendido in Portofino, Italy (#45).
"[The Four Seasons Hotel Montreal] is a contender for the most luxurious in town, managing to remain decidedly upscale without becoming ostentatious. Think: your most fabulous friend’s spacious Parisian pied-a-terre (after all, this is a city that prides itself on Francophone connections)," writes Condé Nast.
"The details are gorgeous without being overwhelming or overly precious, with herringbone wood floors, stunning custom furniture pieces, and positively enormous marble bathrooms with heavenly Byredo amenities. It’s worth calling out the truly fantastic, spacious closets; they are beautifully lit, feature well-constructed built-in drawers, and have enough space to hide your luggage away, lending each room and suite a residential feel where you’ll almost forget you’re staying in a hotel."
The Four Seasons Montreal isn't the only Canadian hotel to rank among la crème de la crème, based on Condé Nast's U.S. survey.
Two Toronto spots made the cut: The Sutton Place Hotel (#50) and The Hazelton Hotel (#9).
Plus, Newfoundland's Fogo Island Inn snagged 26th place.
In first? The Lodge at Bodega Bay in California.
