A Montreal TikToker left Parisians scratching their heads after dropping a popular Quebec expression on the streets of the city of lights and love. The results? Pure confusion and some genuinely baffled reactions.

While the French tend to keep things more formal, Quebecers like to pepper their sentences with Quebec expressions that would raise some eyebrows among those who aren't from Quebec. Heck, it raises eyebrows among many of us who are from Quebec.

In a side-splitting display of trans-Atlantic humour, a Montreal TikToker recently challenged French people in Paris to imitate the unique Quebec accent. The results were nothing short of a linguistic rollercoaster, with a number of rather timid subjects among some courageous and occasionally impressive attempts.

While both the French and Quebecois accents may seem as similar as maple syrup and crème brûlée, they're actually more like two distant cousins at a family reunion: connected by roots but diverging in hilarious and endearing ways.

Skunks are often feared due to their infamous spraying power and pungent odour. However, that didn't stop one Quebec woman from saving a skunk whose head was stuck in a soda can.

Roxane Delaire, who hails from the Outaouais region of Quebec, stopped alongside boulevard Mont-Bleu when she noticed a skunk was in need of some help. It didn't take much time before Delaire hopped out of her car to help the docile animal, and the entire moment was captured on camera.

Mark Gaetano, who is popularly known as Snarky Marky on TikTok, recently paid a visit to Montreal and gave the French language a go. Well, turns out his "10 years" of French education back in Ontario didn't prepare him all too well, and Mark definitely found out the hard way.

During his time in Montreal, Mark ventured over to Subway where he attempted to order in French and it didn't go over very well. "I just got off the train cause I am in Montreal and for those who don't know, Montreal is in a French-speaking part of Canada and I was thinking 'why don't I put my 10 years of French education to use?'"

You may have seen apartment tour and rent check videos on TikTok, perhaps from the hugely popular account @calebwsimpson, whose 6.6 million followers know him best for filming "this generation's MTV cribs" — videos touring New York City apartments and sharing how much each tenant pays per month.
