When it comes to Montreal's food scene, more is always merrier. While the city is home to countless must-try restaurants, you just might want to add this brand-new Mediterranean spot in Montreal's Old Port to your list.

Located on rue de la Commune Ouest in Vieux-Montreal, La Boqueria will serve up Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, tapas-style. Named after a popular market in Barcelona, La Boqueria will operate next to La Catrina, a Mexican restaurant operated by the same partners.

My partner and I have been on a bit of a mission, trying out pretty much every Indian restaurant in Montreal. But for my boyfriend, who's from Punjab, India, none really hit the mark until a new restaurant opened near Charlevoix metro in January. It has already become our top spot in the city for him to get a taste of home.

Mini Punjab dishes out traditional meals, like dosa ($9 to $14), biryani ($15), and 43 different styles of curry (starting at $12). And of course, you can't forget about the naan ($2.50).

Montreal's Plateau-Mont-Royal neighbourhood is now home to a new Southeast Asian restaurant: Kra Pow. The Montreal restaurant officially opened its doors earlier this month serving up some of the most authentic Malaysian, Singaporean and Indonesian cuisine.

If you're familiar with the name, that's because Kra Pow isn't entirely new to the Montreal foodie scene. After opening up back in 2020, Kra Pow, which is considered to be both a type of basil and a dish from Thailand, began as a pop-up shop for takeout — gaining popularity among Montreal foodies and visitors alike.

Montreal's Village has a new hotspot that celebrates Creole charm and flavours. The team that brought bars like Midway and Marion to Montreal have opened a new concept inspired by Louisiana and New Orleans: Moqueur.

What started as an idea for a grab-and-go spot for po' boys transformed into a bigger, 50-seat project once they moved into the same space that once housed the once-infamous restaurant Agrikol.

Montreal's downtown scene is about to get even hotter with the arrival of a massive new terrasse inspired by the sun-kissed vibes of Southern California and a chic brasserie offering up the glamorous excess of the roaring twenties.

Honeyrose, a brand-new hotel in the heart of Montreal's downtown core (the corner of de Maisonneuve and Bleury), is slated to open this June and with it comes two brand new restaurants, Muze Lounge & Terrasse and Commodore, both of which are bound to take your summer hangouts to the next level.

Montreal's food scene just got a bit bigger (and yummier) with Bar 1994, Montreal's newest Korean restaurant serving up loads of delicious and trendy dishes that are bound to transport you to the streets of Seoul.

A new Westmount restaurant is all about combining the glitz and glam of the city with Montreal's laid-back vibe. Guilt & Ivy opens in September and is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, an anniversary or simply just celebrate life.

Located on Sherbrooke Street West, in the heart of Westmount, Guilt & Ivy is a two-storey dining space with white brick walls and hanging ivy around every turn. The marble accents, oak floors and thick butcher block tables add the oomph that you'd expect from a destination in one of Montreal's most high-end neighbourhoods.
