When it comes to Montreal's food scene, more is always merrier. While the city is home to countless must-try restaurants, you just might want to add this brand-new Mediterranean spot in Montreal's Old Port to your list.

Located on rue de la Commune Ouest in Vieux-Montreal, La Boqueria will serve up Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, tapas-style. Named after a popular market in Barcelona, La Boqueria will operate next to La Catrina, a Mexican restaurant operated by the same partners.

The refined Mediterranean-style space is decorated with bright colours, including original brick walls painted white, wooden tables and a tiled bar. With hanging light fixtures covered in straw and hints of sandy beige, you'll feel as if you're dining seaside in the south of Spain.

The restaurant will officially open its doors on Monday, April 8 from noon to midnight every day and will offer up several mouthwatering tapas dishes crafted by Colombian-born executive chef David Melo Rubio including bacon-wrapped dates, fried artichoke with romanesco sauce, patatas bravas, marinated olives, fried calamari and lamb brochettes, to name a few.

La Boqueria will also serve three styles of croquetas made up of Iberico ham, cod and another with lobster and shrimp. You can also sample an assortment of ceviches and paella dishes, transforming your night into an authentic Spanish evening.

While the food menu is certainly impressive, the cocktail list deserves just as much attention. The drink list was developed by Nectar et Mixologie and features classics with a Spanish twist, like the Jerez Colada, the Boquejito and a surprising sangria made with red wine and mango.

Guests can also enjoy La Boqueria's grilled section, which offers a variety of dishes cooked over an open flame. You can enjoy assorted grilled fish served with patatas bravas, sourced from the Mediterranean and U.S. coasts and the half-cornish hen with garlic, lemon, and mojo verde.

So, who's hungry?
