Following Canada's decision to not renew its COVID-19 travel restrictions, hassle-free travel is back in action and what better way to take advantage than with a last-minute beach vacation? Imagine your feet in the sand, the sounds of the waves and a drink in your hand — the all-inclusive life doesn't get any better than that, amirite?

Luckily, Sunwing Vacations has several last-minute vacation packages up for grabs and you can travel down south for as little as $675. Mhm, less than $700 for a one-week vacay.

"The safety and security of travellers and transportation workers is paramount to Transport Canada," the department stated in an April 28 press release.

Remember the Sunwing party flight drama? Well, the trip may be over, but the media frenzy definitely isn't. On Thursday, January 27, James William Awad, founder of 111 Private Club, held a press conference to address the questions that have been on people's minds — and to slam certain airlines.

The party flight organizer started the conference by calling out Sunwing, Air Transat and Air Canada for "abandoning" 154 Quebecers in Mexico. The contract promised a flight back, Awad said, which some influencers were not given in the end.

Quebec's consumer watchdog, the Office de la protection du consommateur (OPC), confirmed that the Sunwing party flight organizer doesn't have a travel agent license.

It seems some of those Quebec Sunwing plane partiers are now stuck in Mexico. Banned from at least three airlines and allegedly failing to fake negative PCR tests, some of the "Ostrogoths" are now scrambling to get back to Canada — at least according to Instagram gossip accounts.

Now, a Quebec moving company is jokingly offering to help. In an ad mocking the stranded influencers, Déménagement Le Clan Panneton says its expertise makes it capable of making the 5,823-kilometre trek from Mexico to Quebec. (It's a 61-hour drive according to Google Maps.)

A group of Quebec influencers and reality TV personalities made headlines this week as footage of them partying maskless while on a plane to Mexico, chartered by 111 Private Club, circulated online, leading to Sunwing, Air Transat and Air Canada refusing to fly them home.

The passengers — who Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called a gang de sans-desseins (purposeless or clueless people) — face fines of up to $5,000 per offence and even jail time for air safety and public health violations, and both the airline as well as multiple federal government departments are investigating. Some of the passengers have also spoken out to tell their sides of the story, as has the flight's organizer: 111 Private Club.

A group of Quebecers shown on video having a largely maskless party aboard a private Sunwing flight to Cancun risk fines of up to $5,000 per offence if they're found to have committed them, Transport Canada has warned.

The Journal de Montréal first reported on the video of the group, which the publication identified as including influencers and dating reality show stars. The video has since been deleted, but the Journal said it showed individuals dancing, smoking and drinking personal supplies of alcohol aboard the December 30 flight.
