A&W's newest menu item takes the term "doggie bag" very literally.

For a limited time, you can actually roll up to the drive-thru with your pup and get your good boy or girl their very own dog-friendly meal while also contributing to charity.

"This marks the first time a Canadian burger chain has launched a menu item dedicated to dog parents and their pets," an A&W Food Services of Canada Inc. press release says.

The tasty treat, dubbed the "Pup Patty" in English or "Menoum pour toutou" in French, is a 1.6-ounce premium grass-fed beef patty made without any seasoning, so it's safe for your four-legged family member(s) to consume.

It costs $2 and a portion of all proceeds go to nonprofits that are dedicated to raising and training service dogs, which provide life-changing support to Canadians with disabilities.

One of those organizations is the Pacific Assistance Dogs Society (PADS).

"Queso is my fourth Mobility Dog from PADS," said Sarah Bourne, a PADS client. "He has become an incredible sidekick, enriching my daily life in ways I never thought possible. His exceptional proficiency in physical tasks — like retrieving dropped items, adjusting my feet on my wheelchair footplates, and skillfully opening and closing doors — has granted me new levels of independence and deepened our bond."

A&W reminds pup parents in the press release that this offer is drive-thru only and pets are not allowed inside the dining area.

The release also suggests consulting with your vet before giving your doggo human food, and PADS notes on Instagram that "the Pup Patty is a high-value treat [...] to be enjoyed in moderation and responsibly."

If your furry friend is having a ruff day and you want them to have a ball instead, Pup Patties (Menoum pour toutous) are available from June 10 to 23.
