Canada's best employer ranking of 2024 is a who's who of corporate excellence, revealing which companies are leading the pack in employee satisfaction. Quebec companies are among the nation's best this year with nine province-based contenders in the top 30.
Forbes' annual roundup highlights the firms that employ 500 workers or more and excel in salary, work flexibility, and career advancement opportunities. This year's list showcases a range of industries, from education and healthcare to utilities and government services.
Quebec-based organizations like Elections Canada (4), Concordia University (5), and Hydro-Québec (7) stand out for their supportive and empowering work cultures. Parks Canada (9) also placed in the top 10, proving that La Belle Province is a key player when it comes to top-notch employment opportunities.
Shaped by feedback from over 40,000 Canadian employees, the ranking is based on a Statista-run survey analyzing key factors like gender pay equity and on-the-job training to examine what makes a company most desirable to its workforce.
Participants were asked if they would recommend their employer and to rate other employers in their industry. Responses came from two groups: current employees and people who know the company through personal connections, with more weight given to responses from current employees.
Each company's score was calculated based on responses and the 300 companies with the highest results made it to the final list. Top employers all offer competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for career advancement, which are critical for attracting and retaining talent.
