A recent study paints a pretty candid picture: nationwide, Montreal employees ranked among the least loyal to the companies that hire them.

In a new study, Resume.io, an online resume and CV letter creator, analyzed Canada's LinkedIn data to measure which Canadian cities are the most and the least loyal to their employers. Turns out, a lot of folks across the 514 don't want to work, at least not at one company for a significant length of time. And can we blame them?

Forbes released its 2023 ranking of Canada's best employers for diversity and a number of Quebec-based companies managed to make the list, with Hydro-Québec earning the province's top spot.

Forbes ranked organizations that do better in providing a diverse, equitable and inclusive workspace. In order to compile the list, Forbes collaborated with Statista, an online platform specialized in data gathering and visualization, which surveyed approximately 12,000 Canadian workers at companies with at least 500 employees. Participants anonymously rated their companies based on criteria such as age, gender, ethnicity, disability and LGBTQ+ equality, as well as diversity overall.

Employer review site Glassdoor has compiled its list of the best places to work in Canada in 2023. The ranking includes some familiar big names, such as Hydro-Québec, Nike, Bell, Accenture, Desjardins, Microsoft and, in the number one spot, Google.

The list consists of the companies that had the highest Glassdoor ratings based on employee-submitted reviews between October 19, 2021, and October 17, 2022. The companies must have had at least 25 reviews in nine different Glassdoor workplace rating categories and their workforces must have consisted of at least 1,000 people.
