The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPAQ) in Quebec and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have recalled several food items sold across the province for reasons that can pose serious health and safety risks to Canadian consumers.

The MAPAQ is currently recalling food items sold at local and province-wide grocery stores due to microbial contamination involving both salmonella contamination and E. coli, as well as incorrect product packaging and labelling.

The government department is urging consumers to verify if they have any of the affected food items and either dispose of the recalled items or return them to the original point of purchase.

Here are all the details regarding the seven recalled foods sold across Quebec.

  • Boulangerie Amaretti Stracciatella Soup | All items with labels that do not indicate the presence of soy

Recall Reason: The MAPAQ has recalled the pre-made meals from Amaretti as they do not properly list sesame and soy on the label, which can pose a serious risk to consumers allergic to those ingredients.

What You Need To Do: Per the Quebec ministry, anyone in possession of one of these products is advised not to consume it. They should either return it to the store where they purchased it or throw it away.
