The building is being evacuated.
Staff Writer

A Montreal police operation is reportedly underway at the Ubisoft offices in the Mile End near the intersection of boulevard Saint-Laurent and rue Saint-Viateur.

UPDATE: Police say "no threat" has been identified.

Few details have been confirmed by the SPVM, but there were several unverified reports that a hostage situation is underway.

According to Radio-Canada, several employees have gathered on the roof of the Ubisoft building.

In a tweet, police say officers were "sent to the location following a 911 call. Specialized #SPVM officers are on site inspecting the premises. There are no injuries reported."

The SPVM is asking people to avoid the area.

The entire area is currently cordoned off and several police vehicles and an ambulance are on the scene.

At 3:50 p.m. police reported that "no threat" had been identified and that they were in the process of evacuating the building.
