These Quebec Malls Are Introducing Reservations For The Holiday Shopping Season
No more long line-ups! 😲🎄
Theis fast approaching and you'll want to reserve a time slot in several if you're hoping to get your done soon.
Ivanhoé Cambridge announced its "virtual lineup management system" on November 12. The real estate company is behind Montreal's Eaton Centre, Place Montréal Trust and Galeries d'Anjou, among other shopping centres in Quebec.
The purpose of this new technology is "to provide the safest shopping environment [...] during the holiday season" in Ivanhoé Cambridge's 48 shopping centres across Canada.
The health and safety of our tenants, customers and visitors is our priority.
NATHALIE PALLADITCHEFF, PRESIDENT OF Ivanhoé Cambridge
Anyone wishing to shop at one of Ivanhoé Cambridge's centres will be able to reserve the time slot of their choice through its website using a virtual lineup management system developed by Waitwhile.
Once on-site, shoppers can scan QR codes displayed at participating stores. Customers can also receive text message updates as to the progress of the queue.
Last month, Ivanhoé Cambridge told Narcity Québec that it did not intend to restrict the number of shoppers in its shopping centres, as it does with individual (indoor) retail stores.
According to a study by the Retail Council of Canada, 70% of Quebecers "have no intention of changing the time of year they do their holiday shopping."
