Saint-Leonard's Le Boulevard shopping center — the third shopping centre to ever be built in Montreal — has announced that it's closing its doors after 68 years in business.  

According to Retail Insider, the City of Montreal is taking over the rights to the property to expand the Société de transport de Montréal (STM)'s blue line.

Le Boulevard's Facebook announcement said that its merchants — which include Dollarama, Canadian Tire and Urban Planet — will be liquidating merchandise until its closure. So keep an eye out for upcoming sales.

"Until the Center closes for good, we invite you to come and take advantage of the closing sales of our merchants, who will gradually leave us in the coming months," the post reads.

The comments section beneath the Facebook announcement is full of nostalgic customers expressing their sadness.
