Quebec is poised to receive Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine as early as next week.

According to Health Minister Christian Dubé, the province will receive around 4,000 doses — enough for 2,000 people.

The first doses will be delivered to CHSLDs in Montreal and Quebec City.

Quebec is ready to vaccinate people as soon as we receive the first doses.

Health Minister Christian Dubé

The province hopes to vaccinate 22,000 to 28,000 Quebecers between December 21, 2020, and January 4, 2021.

20 vaccination sites have been identified in Quebec: "One for each of our 16 regions, and in the region of Montreal four sites, and in Montérégie two sites," Dubé explained.

"My speaking to you about vaccination today means that this is concrete and the arrival of vaccines is imminent," he said.

"Quebec is ready and we're able to accomplish the job."
