9,005 COVID-19 deaths in Quebec since the pandemic began

New daily COVID-19 cases in the province averaged around 2,100 this week, with Quebec reporting 2,225 new coronavirus cases on January 15.

Twenty-two COVID-19 patients left Quebec hospitals as of January 15, for a current total of 1,474 Quebecers being treated in hospital.

As well, four patients left intensive care units January 15, for a total of 227 patients being treated for COVID-19 in Quebec ICUs.

Montreal made up 43% of overnight COVID-19 cases in Quebec on January 15, adding 958 new cases of coronavirus in the city.

Laval added 219 new cases to its total of 20,237, while the Montérégie region added 327 new cases on January 15, for a total of 34,247.

The Quebec government had administered 10,783 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine on January 15, for a current total of 137,856 Quebecers who have received a dose of the coronavirus vaccine.
