Montreal's Waterfront Will Be Getting Some Cool New Spots This Summer

You'll be able to sit, eat, and see shows at them!
Contributing Writer

Thanks to Premier François Legault's recent announcements, summer in the city is looking up. And there's more good news! Several spots are coming to Montreal's waterfront this summer starting June 19 and they'll be set up by the Village de Noël de Montréal association.

"There will be two installations: one at Parc Jean-Drapeau starting June 19 and the second will be mobile, it will move along the Lachine Canal throughout the summer to meet Montrealers," Line Basbous, executive director of the association told Narcity Quebec.

"We have four stages of three weeks for the second: two along the Lachine Canal, one in Verdun at the John Gallagher Island, and the last one that will end in the North-East to Pointe-aux-Trembles," she continued.

"These are facilities with an outdoor restaurant, tables, lounge chairs, a stage and lights," she said. "There will be regular programming" with shows scheduled on Fridays and Saturdays, but also workshops that will be offered in partnership with several organizations in the city.

On each spot, there will be a vegan restaurant where you can eat "burgers, tapas, churros, waffles". An ice cream shop will also be installed.
