Health Canada Recalled Several Handheld Steamers — Here's How To Get A Full Refund
The recall is due to a potential burn hazard.

Health Canada has published recall warnings for several handheld steamers from brands including Steamfast, Vornado, and Sharper Image sold across Canada.
Per the federal health agency, the steamers are being recalled due to potential burn hazards. "The garment steamers can expel hot water from the steam nozzle while heating during use, posing a potential burn hazard."
Here are the details regarding the recalled products:
- Steamfast model numbers SF-425, SF-435, SF-440, SF-445, and SF-447
- Vornado model number VS-410
- Sharper Image model number SI-428

The recalled steamers were sold in the following colours: SF-435 (white, black, light pink, hot pink, sage green, orange, and teal blue); SF-425, SF-440, SF-445, SF-447, and SI-428 (white); and VS-410 (black).
The brand name of the steamers is displayed on both sides of each unit and a label is positioned on the bottom of the steamer. Additionally, the model number is included on the label.
A total of nearly 13,000 units of the recalled items were sold across Canada and approximately two million were sold in the United States. The affected products were sold from July 2009 to January 2024

Although the company has not received any reports or incidents of injury in Canada, 122 reports of hot water spraying from the steam nozzle, and 23 reports of injuries were recorded in the U.S., per Health Canada.
The federal health agency is urging Canadian consumers to "immediately stop using the recalled Steamfast, Sharper Image and Vornado handheld garment steamers."
Customers are being asked to contact Vornado for a full refund.
