The Lotto Max winning numbers for Tuesday, September 24, are out, so you know what that means: It's time to check your tickets to see if you're one of the lucky winners.

After last Tuesday's historic $80 million jackpot — the highest amount ever seen in a Canadian lottery — was finally won, the prize has been reset. But since no one managed to snag Friday's $22 million jackpot, the prize has rolled over and increased to a cool $27 million this week. Not too shabby!

So, are you feeling lucky? Let's dive into the results of the past two draws and find out if the odds were in your favour.

What are the Lotto Max winning numbers for Tuesday, September 24?

The Lotto Max winning numbers for Tuesday, September 24 are: 01, 11, 21, 38, 40, 43 and 45. The bonus number is 20.

There were no Maxmillions up for grabs this week since the jackpot hasn't hit $50 million yet.

While no one snagged the $22 million jackpot, one lucky player in Quebec won $209,014.20 thanks to their six matching numbers plus bonus, so if you haven't checked your ticket from Friday yet, get on it ASAP!

How does Lotto Max work?

Lotto Max is one of the biggest lottery games in Canada, with draws happening twice a week — every Tuesday and Friday.

For $5, you get three sets of seven numbers, each ranging from 1 to 50. To win a prize, you need to match at least three numbers from one of your sets with the winning numbers. Some prize categories also use a bonus number, which is drawn alongside the regular ones.

Prizes are based on ticket sales and are split among the winners in each prize tier. Here's a look at the typical payouts based on how many numbers you match:

  • 7/7 — jackpot (an average of $47.5 million)
  • 6/7 + bonus — an average of $194,405
  • 6/7 — an average of $4,629
  • 5/7 + bonus — an average of $926
  • 5/7 — an average of $105
  • 4/7 + bonus — an average of $50
  • 4/7 — $20 fixed prize
  • 3/7 + bonus — $20 fixed prize
  • 3/7 — free play

The Lotto Max jackpot starts at $10 million and grows each time it's not won, up to a maximum of $80 million. Once the jackpot hits $50 million, Maxmillions — additional $1 million prizes with their own unique set of numbers — come into play.

All three sets of numbers on your $5 ticket are entered into both the main draw and any Maxmillions draws. To win a Maxmillions prize, you'll need to match all seven numbers with one of the Maxmillions draw selections.

You can grab your tickets right up until 10:30 p.m. ET on draw days.

The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 33,294,800, but your chances of winning any prize are about 1 in 7.

Good luck, Canada!
